Become a member — Registration for 2016-2017

By becoming a member of NCSOA and renewing your membership each year, you will be able to receive refereeing assignments for both the boys and girls high school seasons.

Membership requirements
New and Renewing (revision 8-21-15)

To become a member of NCSOA, you must meet the requirements below and be accepted as a member.
  1. You must be a currently registered USSF certified referee, Grade 8 or higher. A copy of your USSF ID card is required at one of the registration nights.
  2. You must register at the "prospective new member meeting" scheduled just prior to the two regular meetings of the current Boy's or Girl's Seasons.
  3. The fee to become a member is determined by the Board prior to each new season. Payments may be made in the form of cash or a check made out to NCSOA. (Fee is generally $45.00)
  4. You must pass the high school soccer rules take-home exam within the first two meetings and pass it with a score of 85% or higher.
  5. You may not currently be a high school student or a soccer coach during the current school year.
  6. You must have two letters of recommendations from your referee assignor or referee coordinator. We also would like to see you officiate at tournaments prior to joining our organization.
  7. You must have gold, red, and black short-sleeved and long-sleeved jerseys at every game. Members also may use blue and green jerseys. (USSF OSI style is recommended.)
  8. You must be able to attend all scheduled meetings unless you are officiating on that same evening. All of our meetings are generally at 7:00 p.m. at a location to be determined by the Board.
  9. You must have access to the Internet and have a valid e-mail address to receive assignments.
  10. All assignments are delivered via e-mail. You have 48 hours to accept or decline assignments before they are available for reassignment.
